About La Dispute

It's been six long years since La Dispute released their last album, Panorama. Throughout the pandemic, this passionate post-hardcore band from Michigan has persevered, commemorating the decade anniversaries of Wildlife and Rooms Of The House, all while working on their new album, No One Was Driving The Car.

This fifth studio LP, their first to be fully self-produced, was crafted across Grand Rapids, Detroit, the UK, Australia, and the Philippines. Vocalist Jordan Dreyer reflects on the journey: “The change in environment truly rejuvenated each session.”

Inspired partly by the psychological thriller First Reformed, No One Was Driving The Car delves into themes of existentialism amidst technological chaos. Featuring fourteen powerful tracks, Dreyer's vocals have evolved and the guitars cut sharper than ever, raising questions about control in our lives.
