Lace Knitting: Old Shale
Arrangör SomoEventFinder
Om evenemanget
Join us for a delightful Lace Knitting workshop where you’ll conquer your fears and create something beautiful! 🌸 Lace knitting is light and airy, much like a meringue, and in this session, we will work with the traditional Old Shale pattern from the Shetland Isles.
What You’ll Learn:
- 📜 Reading a lace chart
- 📍 Using stitch markers and lifelines
- ↖️ Left-leaning and right-leaning decreases, and yarn-overs
- 🌊 Blocking techniques for lace
Materials:
The instructor will provide a variety of yarn weights. Don’t forget to bring a 5mm needle (straight or circular). For optimum results, sharper-pointed needles are recommended, and wooden needles are often preferred by beginners for a smoother experience! 🧶
Requirements:
Participants should know the basics: knitting, purling, casting on, and casting off.
📍 Location: Erstagatan 24, SE-116 36 Stockholm, Sverige
