Magnificent Desolation

🌌 skēnē is thrilled to unveil Magnificent Desolation, an extraordinary exhibition by Susanna Marcus Jablonski in collaboration with playwright Eva Maria Benavente Dahlin.

🖼️ This exhibition offers a captivating performance within a uniquely staged environment where language, imagery, and topography seamlessly intersect. It signifies a new dimension of Susanna's sculptural exploration, emphasizing that 'sculpture' transcends mere objects to include the very spaces that foster the meeting of bodies and objects.

📜 The foundation of this work is a script co-written with Eva Maria, inspired by a poignant drawing created in the 1940s by a child in imprisonment, showcasing Earth as viewed from the Moon. The narrative examines the drawing's journey as it survives its creator, integrating themes of displacement, technological aspirations, and cultural memory, resonating across diverse histories and landscapes. The drawing acts as a sculptural element, infused with stories that extend beyond tangible existence.
