Norman Jay, born in Notting Hill, is an iconic figure in the DJ world. He played his first gig at just 8 years old! His journey began with his father's record collection, which nurtured his love for bluebeat, ska, and jazz. By the late 1970s, he had established himself as a key player in Afro-American music, mastering genres like funk, disco, soul, and jazz fusion.

Inspired by New York's vibrant club scene during family visits, Norman, alongside his brother Joey, founded the Good Times Sound System, making waves at the Notting Hill Carnival. He also played a pivotal role in launching London pirate radio station KISS FM and was influential in the 'Rare Groove' movement, showcasing the best of 70s and 80s grooves.

As a co-founder of the 'High On Hope' club, Norman was vital in shaping the UK's club culture. His contributions have earned him widespread acclaim and a well-deserved MBE from the Queen for his services to DJing and music.

In recent years, he has revitalized his Good Times parties across East London, and his latest compilation, 'Mister Good Times', encapsulates his musical journey, celebrating the spirit of community and joy. 🌟
