Om evenemanget

Discover the captivating narrative of the Solidarity trade union and its profound impact on Eastern Europe at the European Solidarity Centre. This permanent exhibition spans nearly 3,000 square meters across two floors, featuring seven immersive halls that invite visitors to dive deep into history.

Explore a wealth of archival objects, documents, manuscripts, photos, and video projections, alongside interactive installations that create a truly engaging experience. On average, visitors spend about two hours uncovering personal connections to historical events.

Among the remarkable displays are the 21 postulates from the August '80 strike at the Lenin Shipyard in Gdansk, the overhead crane used by renowned activist Anna Walentynowicz, and the bullet-riddled jacket of Ludwik Piernicki, a young shipbuilder who tragically lost his life during the December '70 protests. You'll also find the desk of Jacek Kuroń, a pivotal figure in the opposition against communism. With nearly 1,800 objects on display, each visit offers a fresh narrative to explore!
