Welcome to a thought-provoking journey through Pia Rönicke's art, where the boundaries of time, space, and narrative intertwine.
About the Exhibition
Dear friends,
We often hear that the past is behind us and the future is uncertain. Yet here we stand, resilient against the tides of forgetfulness, believing firmly in images, words, shapes, and sounds. The urgency of this belief fills the space, urging us to engage in dialogues that reveal the cracks in our realities.
Remember back in 2006 when you collaborated with Pia on her exhibition at L k? Those conversations still echo, carrying a sense of urgency and deep inquiry. Pia’s work compels us to write letters to our loved ones, crafting a nomadic language that traverses history through photographs and traces.
Join us in gathering these stories as we explore the Drifters’ Archive—where revolutionary dreams echo like the soothing sounds of nature, entwined with the narratives of figures like Rosa Luxemburg, Walter Benjamin, and Ursula K. Le Guin.
Together, we will:
🌱 Walk through a cloud forest of storytelling
✨ Meander through unknown territories filled with resilient histories
🕊 Retell the tales of the dispossessed, from those who defy societal norms to seeds that journey across oceans.
Pia Rönicke, a visual artist based in Copenhagen, has dedicated over twenty years to collecting narratives that challenge colonialism and capitalism. Her multifaceted projects weave together various media and timelines, celebrating the unwavering spirit of feminist and communal resistance. Don't miss the two-part exhibition presented at Fuxia 2 and SIGNAL!
