Are you ready to make a difference in protecting our marine ecosystems? Join us for the Pierce County Green Crab Molt Search Training hosted by Harbor WildWatch and the Takhoma Bluetits! 🐚
📅 Date: 26 april
🕘 Time: 09:00 - 11:00
📍 Location: Jack Hyde Park, near the sundial statue
This hands-on training is part of WSU Extension and Washington Sea Grant’s “Molt Search” program—an initiative aimed at battling the invasive European green crab, one of the most concerning threats to Washington's marine health. 🦠
Learn how to search for and report on the presence of European green crab molts—the empty shells left behind as crabs grow. These molts can help detect the crabs earlier in new areas.
After the training, join us at 11:00 for a fun dipping event with the Takhoma Bluetits and help contribute valuable data to this crucial conservation effort.
