Rastislav Podhorský: Cosmetics

Join us at Atelier XIII for the exhibition entitled Cosmetics, featuring the intriguing works of artist Rastislav Podhorský!

Rastislav Podhorský is renowned for his dedication to figurative painting and drawing, and serves as both a theorist and curator. His artistic style strikes a balance between simplicity and the unpredictable, capturing intense moments within subtle human scenes. Podhorský seeks to blend spontaneous painting processes with a sense of completion in his final pieces.

In 2021, he completed his doctorate with a practical-theoretical work titled Protirečník: Rámce a latentné možnosti vizuálneho umenia (Contradictory: Frameworks and Latent Possibilities of Visual Art). He previously led the Painting Studio III at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava from 2017 to 2021, and currently oversees the Delta Painting Studio at the same institution. His captivating works are featured in numerous art collections worldwide, and he resides and works in Bratislava.

🎶 As a special feature of this exhibition, immerse yourself in a live music set composed of tracks from the album Mental Bubble Memories by the talented music producer Stroon.

Stroon's performances embrace a minimalist approach, skillfully merging electronic and acoustic elements. His music features steady mid-tempo beats complemented by slower experimental sections, all enriched by sweeping synth pads. Originally, the tracks from Metal Bubble Memories were tailored for theater and film, but Stroon has transformed them into standalone pieces, infusing them with both ambient and lively dynamics—while drawing on a variety of acoustic instruments including guitars and vocals.
