With a voice as smooth as velvet, Samara Joy's journey in the jazz world has been nothing short of spectacular. Winning the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition catapulted her into the spotlight, and she is currently working on her debut recording backed by the Pasquale Grasso Trio.

Born and raised amidst rich musical influences in New York, her grandparents led the famed gospel group, The Savettes, while her father toured with Gospel legend Andrae Crouch. Her home was a sanctuary of inspiring sounds from various artists like Stevie Wonder, Lalah Hathaway, and many more, all contributing to her musical foundation.

At just 21 years old, Samara has graced the stages of legendary NYC jazz venues, collaborating with icons such as Christian McBride and Dr. Barry Harris. Her self-titled debut album is set to release on July 9, which promises a timeless collection of original arrangements.
