[SKRONK']: Ytterlandet // Ståle Liavik Solberg & Jan Michálek

🎶 Ytterlandet – where peripheral music takes center stage! 🌍

Dive into the mesmerizing world of Ytterlandet, translating to 'outer country'. This trio of adventurous musicians from the remote North of Europe crafts a unique blend of improvisation. Curious listeners are invited to journey through their intriguing sound chemistry, exploring unknown landscapes reminiscent of free-jazz and noise.

Each performance presents a fresh sonic canvas, painted with:

• Edgy guitar 🎸
• Saxophone/clarinet, either prepared or deconstructed 🎷
• An expansive array of percussion instruments, both intentional and spontaneous 🎵

No two experiences will be the same, as the soundscape manifests uniquely for each listener! 🎨

The trio has graced numerous clubs and festivals across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Portugal over the past decade, including an extraordinary two-week tour in Japan in 2018. 🌏

Meet the Musicians:

• Sture Ericson (SE) – Sax, Clarinet: With vast experience in the experimental music realm, Sture has collaborated with renowned talents such as Axel Dörner, Raymond Strid, and more. He is a vital member of the ILK collective in Copenhagen.
• Henrik Olsson (SE) – Guitar: Known for his innovative style, Henrik's musical contributions span various projects, including Hand of Benediction and Olsson|Rubin. He is also affiliated with the Barefoot Records collective.
• Håkon Berre (NO) – Percussion: Having worked with legends like Peter Brötzmann, Håkon's musical explorations cover diverse directions, and he is a founder of the Barefoot Records collective in Copenhagen.

Michálek & Solberg Duo:

• Ståle Liavik Solberg (NO) is a cornerstone of Oslo's dynamic improvised music scene, recognized for his attentive drumming in various ensembles and festivals, including the Blow Out! festival he curates.
• Jan Michálek (CZ) is a versatile musician from Prague, specializing in saxophone, violin, and electronics. A recent graduate from the Academy of Performing Arts, Jan explores experimental music and currently participates in several exciting projects, including the septet Uthando and his solo work, MOURISCA. 🎻
