Founded in New York City in 1995, Solas has risen to prominence as a revolutionary force in Irish-American music. With an extraordinary lineup, including multi-instrumentalist Séamus Egan, fiddler Winifred Horan, and others, they have redefined the Celtic sound for modern listeners, weaving traditional Irish tunes with elements of folk, bluegrass, and Americana.

With twelve critically acclaimed albums that showcase their unique ability to tell resonant stories, their debut album, Solas (1996), established them as champions of traditional music. A notable work among their discography is the 2013 concept album Shamrock City, inspired by Egan’s great-great-uncle’s immigration journey.
