This unique saxophone ensemble, consisting of tenor, baritone, alto, and soprano, may not be the most common chamber formation, but it promises an exciting repertoire! During the concert, audiences will enjoy two pieces specifically composed for this four-saxophone arrangement.

Kóczán Hanga will enhance the experience with visual masterpieces, presenting original short films that complement the musical works performed.

Highlights of the concert include:

• David Maslanka's “Mountain Roads,” described as an inner pilgrimage, where the mountain symbolizes spiritual ascension. It features the integration of Bach’s melodies, serving as a spiritual source rather than mere quotes. The piece explores the soul's journey through themes of prayer, struggle, reverence, purification, enlightenment, and ultimately peace.
• Guillermo Lago’s “Ciudades,” which showcases six cities: Córdoba, Sarajevo, Addis Ababa, Montevideo, Cologne, and Tokyo, each represented through evocative music that delves into their historical and cultural roots. For instance, Sarajevo’s somber melodies recall the heavy memories of the 1990s Yugoslav war, while Córdoba radiates the fiery rhythms of tango, embodying Spanish passion.

Lyrical interludes by Dr. Jankó Attila will precede each piece, blending literature with the auditory experience.
