Sophia Stel

Sophia Stel, born in Victoria, British Columbia, and shaped by her years in Vancouver, found an enthusiastic fan base with her 2024 debut EP “Object Permanence,” a vulnerable collection of genre-bending songs fueled by her alto voice. You may know her name from ‘I'll Take It’, which became the soundtrack on TikTok for everything from brutally honest relationship advice to #hopecore friendship content. In 2026, Mura Masa released an edit. She knows how to follow her intuition and go against the flow of online trends, setting trends rather than following them.

Her latest EP, How to Win At Solitaire, is her most personal and profound music to date. It's a sonic mix of sleepy shoegaze, electronic pop, and rave-like beats. She also returned to an instrument she has loved since childhood: the electric guitar. By pushing the boundaries of contemporary music, she is simultaneously working on her own post-genre sound.
