Om evenemanget
🌅 Join us at the Visitor Centre for a heartwarming evening as we celebrate 50 years of unwavering dedication to shorebird protection at Gibraltar Point!
🍽 Enjoy a delicious dinner featuring jacket potato and chili (choose between beef or lentil), accompanied by tea or coffee as we delve into captivating stories shared by past Shorebird Wardens. Our journey will highlight the remarkable history of the Little Tern in Lincolnshire, following the pioneering efforts of Barrie Wilkinson in the 1960s and 70s.
🐦 Since 1976, a dedicated Shorebird Warden has been present each summer at Gibraltar Point, battling high tides, strong winds, and various predators to give these resilient birds a fighting chance. Despite the challenges, the commitment from staff and volunteers has been paramount in protecting the Little Terns of Gibraltar Point.
