This legendary duo from Queens, NYC, JuJu and Psycho Les, are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic debut album, ‘The Beatnuts: Street Level’! It's an extraordinary journey that began in their neighborhoods, where Psycho Les started producing and DJing at just 15 years old under various aliases, including DJ Les Jams and DJ Incredible.
In high school, a pivotal meeting with DJ Loco Moe introduced him to JuJu, and together, they unearthed their musical path. Their adventures led them to meet Afrika Baby Bam from the Jungle Brothers, linking them to the remarkable Native Tongues family, which includes legends like De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest.
Initially performing as the Beat Kings, they embraced their fun-loving nature and penchant for carrying a mountain of records to every show, leading to their now legendary moniker, The Beatnuts!
