We'll kick off with the basics—exploring essential skills like colour theory, water control, and composition—while also experimenting with exciting techniques. Our step-by-step approach encourages a playful mindset to keep the creativity flowing!

About the Teacher

Meet Alix, a passionate French artist and designer with over a decade of experience in watercolour painting. Her journey began at a classical academy in Paris, and she loves sharing her artistic insights with both beginners and intermediate artists. As Alix puts it:
"Painting and visual arts allow me to create a world full of wonder and quirky observations, and I love inviting others into that world."

Practical Information

Join us for this hands-on experience on four Thursday evenings. Our location is Tårnværelset on the 3rd floor (access via stairs, no elevator). Classes will be conducted in English, with some guidance available in Danish if needed. The total cost for the course is 900 kr (materials not included). Tickets are non-refundable.

Materials

Please bring your own paper, brushes, and paints. Alix recommends the following items, but don’t worry—basic starter kits from Flying Tiger or Søstrene Grene will work just fine!

• Brushes:
  – Round watercolour brushes (size 4, size 8)
  – A flat brush for mixing (can be synthetic)
• Paper:
  – A block of cheaper paper and a few sheets of better quality for finished paintings
  – Hot pressed smooth paper (300gsm) in A4 or 36x26cm format
  – Cold pressed fine grain paper (300gsm)
  – Sketching paper (80gsm)
• Paint:
  – Watercolour pans or tubes. Alix uses a mix of colours including: Ultramarine, Phtalo blue, Cyan, Quinacridone magenta, Quinacridone purple, Vermilion, lemon yellow, Burnt amber, Burnt sienna, Payne’s grey, and Viridian (green).
