About the Show:
Dive into the intriguing world of neutrinos, particles created during nuclear processes, including the sun's fusion of hydrogen into helium. In the 1960s, scientists Ray Davis and John Bahcall set out to measure these elusive particles. Using a drycleaner tank deep in South Dakota's Homestake Mine, Davis found only one-third of the expected neutrinos, sparking what became known as "The Solar Neutrino Problem."

Numerous experiments across the globe—including Japan, the Soviet Union, and Italy—later confirmed this discrepancy. Various theories were proposed before the eventual breakthrough: neutrino oscillations. In 2001, the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) in Ontario, Canada, confirmed these oscillations, leading to Nobel Prizes for Dr. Davis in 2002 and for advancements in neutrino physics in 2015.
