🎶 Experience the Valencia Baryton Project!

Join us for an extraordinary evening celebrating the Valencia Baryton Project, led by renowned barytonist Matthew Baker. This collective is dedicated to showcasing the nearly 160 works composed by Franz Joseph Haydn for the baryton, along with pieces from other celebrated composers, both classic and modern.

Matthew Baker, one of the few baryton performers globally, has thrilled audiences in sold-out venues across North, Central and South America, and Europe. Their performances have been hailed as the pinnacle of aristocratic instruments of the classical era, with The Strad noting their work as “delightfully inventive” and featuring “exquisite chamber music playing” (Ritmo).

In October 2021, the trio was featured on the cover of Ritmo, Spain's leading classical magazine. They made history by releasing Naxos Records' first baryton CD, which has been described as a “superb recording” (All Music, USA) and “highly recommended” (Stretto, Belgium). This debut also earned a spot on All Music’s Favorite Classical Albums of 2021 and was nominated for Best Classical CD at the 2021 Carles Santos Awards.
