Crafting Glyphs of London Rivers Health Data: A Data Physicalization Workshop for All

Join us for a unique series of workshops aimed at uncovering the health of London's rivers! 🌍 We’ll utilize a dataset from the Greater London Authority, engaging with it via an interactive map displayed on our screens. Through the lens of river health, we’ll highlight London’s blue spaces and broader environmental concerns.

We warmly invite participants to take part in an enjoyable data physicalization crafting activity. This initiative demonstrates that data isn't solely for tech experts—it can be approached in fun and imaginative ways! Discover factual insights, reflect on your surroundings, and enhance your understanding of where you live.

Data physicalization is all about engaging the public with data literacy through hands-on crafting. In this workshop, we will provide a toolkit inspired by glyph-based visualization, enabling each participant to create vibrant cardboard sculptures resembling colorful fish! 🎣 These data sculptures will form part of a communal display, fostering a participatory spirit.

Our goal is to make complex data digestible and significant, helping you reflect on both its broader and personal implications while strengthening community ties. This workshop welcomes all, regardless of your data literacy or crafting skills!
