Hacking Business Models in the Cultural Sector (Workshop Free)

Om evenemanget

Let's face it: the traditional cultural sector often forces us to choose between our creative integrity and financial survival. The myth of the "starving artist" or the "solitary genius" perpetuates a cycle of precarity among cultural workers. But what if we could reshape our projects?

Join us for an engaging and hands-on workshop co-hosted by ODBK and Travelling U. Let's explore how to dismantle extractivist practices and design alternative business models that genuinely support creators!

What You Will Learn:

  • Beyond the Canvas: Viewing system design and business models as part of your artistic medium.
  • Alternative Frameworks: An intro to cooperative structures and the solidarity economy.
  • Redefining Value: Measuring the success of your cultural project using care metrics rather than capitalist extraction.
  • Real-World Pathways: Discover examples of cultural workers who have successfully subverted traditional systems for economic sovereignty.

Who Should Attend:

Artists, cultural managers, creative freelancers, and social entrepreneurs in Berlin who are tired of the hustle culture and wish to explore sustainable, collective work structures.

About the Facilitator:

Oihane Amurrio is a Berlin-based artist, educator, and cultural entrepreneur who specializes in designing alternative pedagogical models in the cultural sector. She is also the lead designer of the Cooperative Cultural Entrepreneurship (CCE) program at Travelling U.
