Pennsylvania’s Women on the Home Front: Their Contributions and Impact

Join us for an enlightening historical program at the Lititz Public Library on April 18, 2026! 🚀 We are excited to welcome Dominish Marie Miller, who will delve into the significant contributions of Pennsylvania women during World War II in her presentation titled “Pennsylvania’s Women on the Home Front: Their Contributions and Impact.”

While the battles overseas captured headlines, the efforts on the home front were equally essential. Across Pennsylvania, women were the backbone of the “Arsenal of Democracy,” crucial to the state’s industrial strength and the overall American war effort. From the bustling steel mills of Pittsburgh to the shipyards in Philadelphia, and the factories in York and Lancaster, these women's dedication filled the gaps left by the men serving abroad.

About the Speaker:
Dominish Marie Miller serves as the Third Circuit Court of Appeals Librarian for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and is actively involved in preserving local history through various initiatives. A seasoned reenactor with the 87th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, she also authored two cookbooks and local history books.
