Celebration Time

Celebration Time spans over 850 m² and features thousands of exhibits presented in a modern, shopping center-inspired style. With well-lit interiors and stylishly dressed mannequins behind glass, the exhibition reinterprets the classic notions of 'folk' and 'rustic' in a fresh context.

At the heart of this exhibition lies the folk “costume,” a vibrant ensemble worn for celebrations filled with dance, music, and rituals. Visitors can admire over 100 festive outfits from Poland and Europe, alongside a unique collection of European folk dance models—miniature dancers adorned in traditional costumes, originally made for the 1937 International Exposition of Art and Technology in Modern Life in Paris.

As it delves into tradition, Celebration Time also questions the significance of folk styles in contemporary mass culture, showcasing how folklore has influenced fashion and applied arts since the 1930s to today. A dedicated gallery invites guests to immerse themselves in the sounds of bygone instruments from Poland and beyond, featuring the enchanting tones of the sarangi, gadulki, and bandura.
